Students entering the High School are at an exciting time of their learning. They are becoming more independent in their learning and are developing more responsibility for the outcomes they can achieve. All students at EBV receive the physical, emotional and social support that compliments their studies and academic progress. In the High School this support is tailored to the growing needs of students as they begin their pathway to adulthood.

Our High School is set on a beautiful campus, providing a serene environment for our students to learn in a natural environment in the city. High School activities are carefully balanced with our continued holistic approach to develop minds socially and emotionally, and to empower them for their own learning. The personal development of our students is encouraged with social interaction and responsibility through a range of activities, events and community participation.

EBV continues to develop the atmosphere fostered in the Primary School of a truly international and multicultural family. Our small size allows us to get to know students and parents better, as well as provide more individual attention where necessary.

This is usually the period of adolescence, where many students need additional support and for some, this can be a difficult period to negotiate. As such, our experienced and energetic faculty endeavours to foster in our students a sense of self-confidence, responsibility, respect, and multicultural understanding that is an important component of their holistic education.

Personalizing learning in high school

Life is about making choices, and EBV students can tailor their secondary education to their personal ambition and future plans like no other school in Venezuela.

EBV’s High School program is designed to meet the academic, social and emotional needs of our learners in high school from Grade 9 to Grade 12. In addition to a rigorous academic syllabus, we advocate cultural understanding, positive social interactions, and a thirst for lifelong learning.

Ultimately, EBV students move on to success in college, career, and life as learned, thoughtful, courageous individuals and global citizens.

Research shows that students learn best when they are connected to the life of their school and to the adults there who guide them. Every EBV middle | high school student belongs to a small advisory group, and has an advisor who mentors them, helps them track their progress, set goals, discuss and solve learning issues, and build on their capacities to take responsibility for their learning.

As an independent, not-for-profit school, all tuition and fees fund the cost of education. The not-for-profit status is an important feature of EBV as it supports the ability of the school to focus on the quality of education over satisfying any profit or investment expectations of owners or shareholders.
