The main focus of the Escuela Bella Vista Counseling Program is to help meet the student’s educational and emotional needs through a variety of services designed to provide the optimal match between the individual student and school program.

The counseling services support the school goals related to the values, curriculum, effective assimilation of new students, and increasing parent participation and guide students with personal, family, social, educational and career decisions, problems and concerns; to consult and work with parents, teachers, school administrators and outside agencies about needs and ways to best serve the developmental, emotional and educational interests of the child.

Elementary School Psychologists

The Elementary School Psychologists help children succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. In order to achieve this goal, the School Psychologist collaborates with educators, parents, and other professionals to create safe and supportive learning environments for all students.

The Elementary School Psychologists offer counseling and brief psychological orientation to students and their parents in regards to any emotional, behavioral or social problems that interfere with the student’s optimal school performance and adjustment.With a focus on prevention, the Elementary School Psychologists coordinate the implementation of the character education program (Core Essentials). By focusing on values and positive behaviors, as well as on developing empathy, many common school issues such as bullying and discrimination can be diminished.Individual or group interventions take place whenever necessary. The Elementary School Psychologists thrive to work in a collaborative manner with the adults who have the biggest influence on children: parents and teachers.  Two School Psychologists serve the Elementary School Students: one focuses on PK to 2nd grade students, the second on 3rd to 5th grade students.
