High School at Escuela Bella Vista is committed to preparing students with essential 21st century knowledge and skills. As such, EBV has incorporated a standards-based curriculum throughout our school. Standards and benchmarks are the backbone of curriculum in school districts throughout world. In short, standards describe the understandings, knowledge, and skills to be demonstrated by students by the time they graduate from high school. These tend to be few in number and quite broad in scope. Standards are then further described by benchmarks. These are "destinations" by which teachers can measure student progress towards attaining the standard. Benchmarks are the expectations for learning at the end of a defined period spanning several years (ex: 6-8 or 9-12).
EBV is accredited to offer recognized American and international standards in grades 6-10, which ensures that our students are competitive with their grade level peers on a global scale. Students in grades 11 and 12 are also offered the opportunity to pursue the International Baccalaureate (I.B.) diploma. As a result, EBV graduates are able to earn two diplomas upon graduation: a standard American accredited diploma and the IB diploma. For further information related to our curriculum, you are encouraged to view our IB diploma link or contact the secondary principal in our academic office.
