Welcome to Escuela Bella Vista’s Seconday School!
Whether you are a current member of our school community, a prospective parent, student, or educator, or just browsing our new website, we invite you to explore our school further and familiarize yourself with our educational programs. Our secondary school is comprised of Middle School (grades 6-8) and High School (grades 9-12) and we offer a range of both educational and social experiences that encourage personal success for all students, while recognizing the developmental, academic, and social differences for individual students. Our aim is to provide an education experience, which embraces the spirit of internationalism, promotes academic excellence, and endorses our citizenship code.
As an IB World School, EBV believes in developing the whole student and we are committed to providing our students with more than just an academic education. As such, we incorporate what we call ESLRs, or Expected School-wide Learning Results, into our units of study. The ESLRs aim to make our students effective communicators, critical thinkers and problem solvers, global citizens, users of technology, and self-directed life-long learners. At EBV, we also hold dear the pillars of our citizenship code – Respect, Compassion, Fairness, Responsibility, and Honesty. As such, those same pillars are reinforced in both in our curriculum and in our after-school programs.
Integral to our philosophy is the recognition that students require an education that acknowledges the uniqueness of each student and allows them to shine in a variety of different arenas. After school, students have the opportunity to compete for EBV in a variety of activities and sports. Tournaments both in Maracaibo and throughout Venezuela allow our students to compete against other international schools in the country in volleyball, basketball, softball, and soccer. Students also take part in coffee houses, which allow students to display their musical and artistic abilities. Additionally, students also have the opportunity to participate in student-led activities such as Drama Club, Model United Nations, and Student Government. Through the IB CAS program, our 11th and 12th students lead activities such as Fashion Shows, Movie Nights, Family Fun Nights, our International Day celebration, and the Back to School Barbeque. It is safe to say, there is an opportunity for each and every EBV secondary student to showcase his or her talents on our campus!
In these ways and many more, the EBV Secondary School strives to fulfill our vision of being an outstanding international school, which prepares our students to become citizens of the world and able to excel in meeting the challenges they encounter. We invite you to be a part of our community and learn more about what EBV has to offer.
