EBV Curriculum
At EBV, we provide a coherent, robust, and student-centered college preparatory curriculum that progresses from Nursery to 12th grade. From Nursery to 10th grade, students are provided with a core academic program in preparation for the IB Diploma Programme. We strive to create a safe, creative, and engaging learning environment where students have a sense of inclusion and belonging. EBV core values are embedded within the curriculum and school culture.
Our professional staff are trained to provide data-driven, student-centered, and differentiated instruction, allowing our students to reach their full academic and personal potential. English is the language of instruction for core academic subjects, with language acquisition support provided to students entering with limited English proficiency.
Escuela Bella Vista is divided in two divisions: Elementary (Nursery-5th) and Middle (6th-8th)/High School (9th-12th). Curriculum planning happens within the divisions and across the multiple departments to ensure an aligned and enriched learning experience. EBV’s Curriculum is planned to address what students know, understand, and are able to do as identified in the EBV chosen standards:

Assessment
At EBV, we recognize that teaching, learning and assessment are deeply linked. Grounded in high expectations and a dynamic curriculum, our elementary and middle school uses a standards-based teaching and learning system. Our pathway is intricately aligned to prepare students for the IB Diploma, ensuring a comprehensive, globally recognized education.
EBV holds that a student’s grade should be an accurate reflection of their ability to exhibit their knowledge and a reliable indicator of whether they are meeting or exceeding the requirements set by the institution. An EBV student will be allowed, at teacher discretion, to reassess work that does not meet the standard.
In Nursery through Prekinder, we look for indicators of developmental milestones which are crucial to the foundational skills required in Elementary. Students in the elementary and middle school are given standards-based report cards, which are intended to convey precise data regarding their advancement in relation to EBV's curriculum standards. High school employs a numerical grading system in preparation for the IB Diploma and University admission.
At EBV, students’ curricular achievement is evaluated through multiple forms of assessment, including computerized adaptive testing:
● NWEA MAP  Growth tests are administered 2 times a year to assess student learning and growth.
● Edmentum Exact Path  is implemented for classroom intervention and
In assistance to students applying to University programs, EBV offers:

We are not for profit
As an independent, not-for-profit school, all tuition and fees fund the cost of education. The not-for-profit status is an important feature of EBV as it supports the ability of the school to focus on the quality of education over satisfying any profit or investment expectations of owners or shareholders.
We Pursue Our Passions
Students at EBV are encouraged to explore their passions and get involved. Taking learning beyond the school day, students can pursue their interests with numerous extracurricular opportunities in the Arts, Athletics, and Campus Recreation as well as help to support their community through Student Organizations.
We are Global Citizens
Global Citizenship at EBV creates authentic experiences that cultivate global understanding, fosters critical consciousness, and empowers people to positively impact their communities and the world.
